In line with their ICT for Youth Development Programme, FACT Ghana has donated learning materials as well as money savings materials to the children of the
"Be Strong in the Lord" Children’s Ministry in Madina, Accra on 18th March 2018.
Photo of some of the beneficially children in a pose The donation was to support the beneficiaries to broaden their knowledge in reading and give them ideas on how to strategically save money towards the future, starting from home. In and interaction with the Executive Director of FACT Ghana, Mr. Joseph Kpet. stated the essence of their gesture.
"We are teaching these children the art of saving so that when they grow up they will not depart from it. Note that savings is a discipline and we must all make conscious effort to save for the future" He said. “These materials are also to help boost the confidence of the children in the word of God as well as help them in their academic work to become great people in future.” He added
As part of the learning process to help the children live a good life in future, two communities (one wealthy and the other, deprived) were presented to the children and were given the opportunity to make their choices for future residence.
Amongst the materials presented to them included: books, pencils, erasers, Bibles, poster colours, artist brushes, poster colours, colour palettes, crayons, scissors, bibles, gospel stories, story books etc. Various awards were presented to deserving kids who participated in a short Bible quiz competition which brought so much excitement and competition among the children.
The children were taught basic ICT skills also and what they can do with ICT as a tool for development. The leader of the Children ministry, Mr. Stephen Yeboah thanked FACT Ghana for their timely and generous act and great effort in putting smiles on the faces of the children. He urged the children to take whatever they have been taught seriously and use it for their own benefits.He said the donation by FACT Ghana is one of a kind which will go a long way to help builf a solid foundation for the children.
He added that the donation is in the right direction and timely as it will enable the children prepared adequately for their end of term exams which is just around the corner.
In a sermon, Mr. Yeboah urged the children not to allow any influence from friends that will make them do bad things because God do not support bad people and their bad deeds. He reiterate that as children, they should be respectful and deligent in the house, school, community and whereever they find themselves in life.
